VUSD Blueprint for Educational Excellence and Innovation

One of the goals of VUSD's Blueprint is that students demonstrate high levels of literacy in English (reading, writing, listening, and speaking). At Madison, English teachers are teaching digital reading and writing using Chromebooks. Other content area teachers are supporting English Language Arts by teaching students to cite textual evidence to support an assertion. Follow the link to learn more about The Blueprint

State Testing 4/21-5/1

Start preparing for the CAASP (California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress) with the SBAC (Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium) Go to CAASPP.ORG to access a practice website. If you need help navigating the practice tests, click here.

Want to help your students' test performance?

  • Encourage your children to read, read, read! (and read, yourself!)

  • Ensure that students are in bed early. A well rested mind is best!

  • Start the day with a healthy breakfast.

  • Engage in physical activity together.  Fit students do better in school!

  • Talk to your children every day about what they are learning in school.  If they can re-teach you what they learned, they are likely to remember it!

The WaveCrest Cafeteria will be offering Free Breakfast
FOR ALL STUDENTS during testing!!

Free breakfast will be served on Tues 4/21, Weds 4/22, Thurs 4/23, Fri 4/24 and also on Tues 4/28, Weds 4/29, and Fri 4/30. Please come get a good breakfast before school so you can do well on your tests!!
